Hello! My name is Mariana Matos, and I am a Portuguese PhD student in Anthropology and in Integrative Conservation at UGA. I got my master’s degree in Conservation Biology working with the amazing and very endangered non-human primates of Madagascar. I am interested in understanding lemur responses to habitat disturbance and how spatial overlap affects the cross-species transmission of parasites. I am also interested in understanding local land-use practices to promote conservation work in the area.
