Dr. Laurie Reitsema was named the 2018 UGA Franklin College of Arts and Sciences Charles B. Knapp Early Career Scholar. PhD Candidate April K. Smith was awarded the NSF Doctoral Dissertation Research Improvement Grant for her dissertation research on the influence of early childhood stress on infectious disease susceptibility. She was also awarded the Charles E. Hudson Excellence in Teaching Award in March 2017.
